To all my P5B 2007 pupils, I think all of you have performed wonderfully. Even though some of you may have lamented that you did not get your ideal grades, I'm sure all of you will go to the Express stream and what is most important now is securing a place in the secondary school. Even if the school may not be your first choice, do not be disheartened as chances are, you may like it eventually.

Just remember that the journey does not end at the PSLE. It's only a beginning.

And in my book, no one came out a loser today. You are all winners.

Lastly, I hope your Primary school journey has been nothing short of wonderful and memorable like mine has been :)

PS: And to those who have 'beaten' my PSLE results and actually bothered to check with me, a double congratulations to you :) I never knew you guys/galz took up the challenge seriously :)

All I can say at this point is that I am glad and also impressed by your Maths CA2 test performance. Today, most of you have conquered your very own 'volcanos' and I couldn't be more proud :)

The Interview - What's Their Secret?

I study Maths 5.5 hours a day. I do Maths assessments and 1 Science assessments everyday. I play the piano during my free time only. I didn't play computer for 2 months prior to the exams
:(

Actually, I prefer doing Maths assessment to playing computer. The day when the exams was over, my brother was playing computer games. I was doing my Maths assessment.

Everyday, I go home after school, I will do my homework and the rest of the time I will do my own homework for about 3 hours.
On Saturdays, I go to my grandparents' house. On Sundays, I go to Warren Golf Club which is at Choa Chu Kang to play golf. After that, I go home and study.

I study for 6 hours a day. I sleep at 11pm. I do my daily revision and do at least 3-4 assessment papers a day. After that, I play PSP and Maplestory.

I revise and read Science notes everyday about 2 hours. And my mother bought for me a few exam papers from other schools. I did quite well. My friend's mother taught me. And my teacher explained things that I did not understand. Also because of my mother who kept encouraging me. This is what made me get 3rd in Science.

The final design to the Certificate of Excellence to acknowledge the acedemic achievements of my pupils. A small token to those who have sacrifice the hours working hard to get where they are.

So what makes this certificate so special? Well ,it is designed by yours truly of course and it's a limited edition. You gotta earn it to keep it :)

The Secret of Success

ProjectBlogo had the chance to interview P5E's SA2 Top 5 for English Language and asked them the following questions and the following were their replies;-

Qn1) What is the secret to being a succcessful student? Do you have any recommended study tips that you wish to share with us?

Sze Yee: Don't study at the last minute. Just relax so that you will do well in your exams and not have too much stress. Always revise everyday after school.

Keith: We have to practice, practice and practice.

Deanne: If there is a word you don't know, check the dictionary and not just leave the word alone without knowing its meaning. You should speak proper English than Singlish.

Irdina: 1) Do your exam papers slowly but not too slowly (???) 2) Check that you have learnt everything the day before the exam.

Qn 2) To what/who do you attribute your success to?

Sze Yee: I attribute my success to my mother, my tuition teacher and Mr Danny

Keith: I attribute my success to my assessment books.

Deanne: CASCO has helped me a lot. It is my assessment book. I owe it to them, Mr Danny and my mum. They motivated me to work harder.

Irdina: Myself, my siblings and parents and my teachers.

After much evaluation, the pupils achieved their success through consistant hard work and a desire (motivation) to succeed. The ironic part is that most pupils think that success is unachieveable although the aforementioned factors are within their control and is only a matter of choice.

Just remember, on the road to success, there are no shortcuts.
